Lee Arnold Buttery, age 75, resident of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed from this life, Sunday, March 25, 2018 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Lee was born February 7, 1943, to William and Pearl (Hoagland) Buttery in Gore, Oklahoma.Lee married the love of his life Virgie Ruth Townsend, July 27, 1963, in Alsuma, Oklahoma.Lee was someone who truly lived to enjoy each day.One of his favorite things to do was going fishing. He loved to fish, and also, loved eating his catfish. He enjoyed having big dinners with friends and family. He never met a stranger. In fact, he always said, “I’ve never met a stranger. But, I’d like to meet one, to see what they look like.” His door was always open and he never passed up an opportunity to help someone. Lee also liked to learn and to help others learn. Because of this, Lee became a big fan of “Google”. However, if you knew Lee, he liked making up his own names for things. So, instead of “Google”- he called it “Doodle”. One of his favorite phrases became, “Doodle it”. Lee owned and operated a delivery service, named Lee’s Delivery, for many years. He loved the job and the people it allowed him to meet. He always said it was the best job he ever had and the best boss he ever had! Lee always had a sense of humor. Even in his last moments, he wanted to leave his family with some good advice and a smile. He wanted his kids and grandkids to remember this piece of advice: “Never let them put you on a no salt diet!” As you think about all of Lee’s favorite things, you can see what made them so. The two most important things in his life were God and his family. Each thing he enjoyed, he became it kept him close to family and his faith.Lee will be dearly missed by his loving wife Virgie; daughters: Brenda Crain (Steve), Tamara Fuller (David), and Katrina Glowacki (Wally); grandchildren: Heather Crain, Haylee Crain, Tara Kizzia (Jacob), Tiffany Rhodes (Dustin), Marissa Glowacki, MaKayla Glowacki, and Amanda Glowacki; great-grandchildren: Lucas Kizzia and Henry Rhodes; siblings: Clyde Buttery (Liddy), Marie Shores (Bill), Delbert Buttery (Freda), Anna Mae Gifford, and Shirley Buttery; and a host of nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.Lee is preceded in death by his parents William and Pearl Buttery; siblings: Wanda Johnson, Talmadge Buttery, Delmar Buttery, and Barton Buttery; and 2 infant sisters: Pamela Rose Buttery and Norman Jean Buttery.Visitation will be held 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Thursday, March 29, 2018 at the Floral Haven Visitation Suites, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.The family will receive friends 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Thursday, March 29, 2018 at the Floral Haven Visitation Suites, BrokenFuneral services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, March 30, 2018 at the Christian Family Center, 19303 E 121st St. S, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
