Lee "Ellen" Draper's Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lee Ellen Draper, who left us on March 29, 2025, at the age of 77. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her infectious smile never failed to light up a room and spark joy in everyone around her.
Lee Ellen Draper was born on February 10, 1948, in Sulphur, Oklahoma to William and Dellar Thompson. She was a native to Oklahoma living in Sulphur, Oklahoma City, and Tulsa. Ellen married Roger Draper on January 3, 1995, in Kauai, Hawaii. She lived a life full of love, kindness, and dedication to her family and community. Ellen flourished as a certified professional secretary in the oil and gas industry for most of her career. She pursued an education throughout her life graduating high school in the Class of ’66 from Sulphur and achieved a Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma City University in 1998. After retiring in 2011, she enjoyed traveling and spending quality time with her husband and family. Ellen was an avid reader who loved to plant and nourish flowers in her garden. She touched the lives of many with her laughter, perpetual joy, generosity, wisdom, guidance, and compassion.
Lee Ellen Draper is survived by her husband, Roger Draper, her children, Tony Trotter, Tammy Ball, and Stephanie Beck, her grandchildren, Megan Rozzana, Bridgette Ball, John Beck, and Hazel Beck, and a great grandson, Brandon Rozzana Jr. She left a large family of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Dellar Thompson, her siblings, Delbert Thompson, Carl Thompson, Virgil Thompson, Lorene Thompson, William “Bill” Thompson, and Loyd Thompson.
A viewing visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, from 3-7pm at Floral Haven. The memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at 10am in Tulsa at Floral Haven followed by a procession (optional) to Sulphur to lay her to rest with a small graveside ceremony. Friends and family are invited to come together to celebrate her life and share their memories. Due to the extended transport to the cemetery in Sulphur to lay her to rest, no reception will be held after the memorial service.
Lee Ellen Draper will be remembered for the impact that she had on everyone’s lives that she touched, and her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
