Lela Edna Wallin's Obituary
Lela Edna Wallin, 91 of Tulsa Oklahoma passed from this life Thursday, March 25, 2021 in Alma, Arkansas. She was born on April 23, 1929 to her parents, Holly G. Cousins and Nora (Dean) Cousins. Lela grew up in Oakhurst, Oklahoma and graduated from Bixby High School in Bixby, Oklahoma. She married the love of her life, Jerry Lee Wallin on June 11, 1950 and they shared in over 56 wonderful years together before his passing in 2006. Lela was blessed with two children, David in 1951 and Jerri in 1953 who she loved dearly.
Lela and Jerry enjoyed traveling across the country, and had many adventures together. They visited several national parks and saw the sites from Yosemite to Niagara Falls and many others in between. They also took several vacations with their daughter Jerri and her family as well. Their grandson Brett came along in 1982 and was their pride and joy. They took advantage of any time they were able to spend with him. Lela’s flower gardens were beautiful and she loved to spend time out in the yard at her home.
Lela is survived by her grandson, Brett Brothers and his wife Samantha of Williston, North Dakota; one great-granddaughter, Evelyn Brothers of Williston, North Dakota; a son-in-law, David Brothers of Phoenix, Arizona; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Holly and Nora Cousins; her husband, Jerry Wallin; her two children, David Wallin and Jerri Brothers; and her eight siblings, Hallie Striplin, Lila "Jeep" Barret, Roma McCreary, Emma Nelson and Grady Cousins, Gene Cousins, Gilbert Cousins and Carlton "Buck" Cousins.
Visitation will be held from 3-6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Floral Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Floral Haven's Funeral Home Chapel.
