Leland O. Ellis' Obituary
Leland O. Ellis, 77, died Wed.July 20, 2011 due to complications from leukemia. Leland was born on August 29, 1933 in Hanson, Oklahoma. Leland grew up in Hanson where he later graduated from Central High School. He attended North Eastern State University and Tulsa University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. While at North Eastern State University he met the love of of his life, Regina Strebeck. They were married January 15, 1955. Leland and Regina relocated to Tulsa where he worked for over 29 years as an accountant for Warren Petroleum, Gulf Oil ,and Chevron/Texaco. During his employment with Gulf Oil, Leland and his family resided in Zaire, Africa for four years. During this time Leland and his family enjoyed traveling extensively throughout Europe and Africa. Leland was an avid hunter and fisherman and a member of the Tulsa Gun Club for over 20 years. He also enjoyed working in his vegetable garden. Leland was very devoted to his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Regina Ellis,sister Jean Huff, two daughters, Sharon Miller and Gina Ellis, and two grandchildren, Nicole LaMora and Leland G. Miller. Leland was preceded in death by daughter Laurie Ellis.
