Lenore Faye Brown's Obituary
Lenore Faye Brown, 90, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma passed away on November 23, 2022, after living a life full of love. Faye was born on November 28, 1931 in Terlton, Oklahoma to Dora Bell and Bernie Buford Hayes. In 7th grade, Henry Fredrick Brown walked into her classroom and was quickly smitten with Faye. “I remember how beautiful she was, and how fortunate I was to have her.” Faye and Henry both graduated from Wynona High School in 1949, with eight other students. Not long after, they were married on September 9, 1950. They were a perfect example of a loving couple, even until her last breath while Henry held her hand gently. They had four children and were fond of their many adventures. Henry loved watching her be a mother, especially teaching her girls how to sew and cheering her boys on at their baseball games.
She attended Draughon’s Business School in Tulsa and later worked as a stenographer and bookkeeper for Skelly Oil and Gas, then in the receiving inspection department for Douglas Aircraft in Tulsa. Faye had many hobbies including sewing, gardening, and painting. She passed on her love of crafts to her many grandkids and now, great-grandkids.
Faye was predeceased by her parents, and her siblings, Berlin Gene Hayes and Opal Loretta Whittington. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Henry Brown; her sister, Myrna Dell Clapp; her children, Sandra Faye McQueary and husband, Wayne McQueary; Valerie Lynn Brown Grober and husband, Mark Grober; Timothy Fredrick Brown and wife, Allyson Brown; and Roger Lee Brown; her many grandchildren, Kelly Andrea Grober Murray and husband, Carl Murray; Emily Grober Trotter and husband, Jeff Trotter; Timothy Joshua Brown and wife, Samantha Brown; Connor Blake Brown; and Trenton Chase Brown; she also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Reed Arthur Murray, Darcy Nell Trotter, Faye Anne Murray, and Pearl Elaine Trotter.
She always told us “Peace, Be Calm" and followed the teachings of Jesus. She told us she “wanted to go home for Thanksgiving” and we found it fitting she was called to her Heavenly home just in time. Faye died peacefully, surrounded by her family. She will be missed by many, but her sweet spirit, faithfulness, courage, and love for her family and friends will never be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that you consider a memorial gift to the OSUMC Resident Education Fund at the Osteopathic Founders Foundation by visiting www.osteopathicfounders.org or mailing to 8801 S. Yale, Suite 400, Tulsa, OK 74137.
