Leo H. Wicker's Obituary
Leo Houston Wicker, 82 of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed from this life on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at his residence with family by his side. He was born November 16, 1935 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, a son of Albert Ray Wicker and Margaret Louiza Taylor Wicker. Leo married the love of his life, Donna “Sue” Robins Wicker on May 17, 1957 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and they have shared over 61 years of wedded bliss together.Leo was a very proud sailor enjoying his time spent aboard the USS Mauna Loa (AE-8). From 1955-1956, while serving in the Navy, Leo was awarded a National Defense Service Medal which he was awarded for his service during the Korean War. Leo was discharged in 1956 with Honorable Distinction. Most recently Leo was happy he attended the “All Hand Renunion” in Pensacola, Florida June 1-4, 2000 for the crew and families of the USS Mauna Loa (AE-8).Leo was a very proud family man, who loved to spend every waking moment with his two daughters and his grandkids. He enjoyed going to T-ball, baseball, soccer and football games and trying to teach his family how to fish. On a given Saturday night he would put his dancing shoes on and dance the night away at the VFW. Leo also loved the local casino, spending his one quarter at a time and would grin ear-to-ear when he would win.Leo is survived by his wife, Sue Wicker of the home; two daughters, Naida Davis and husband Leonard of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Jeannie Reynolds and husband Bill of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; two brothers, Woody Wicker of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Eddy Wicker of Mannford, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Travis Davis and wife Kelsey, Brandon Davis and Taylor Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Margaret Wicker; one son, Leo Houston Wicker, Jr.; three brothers, Bobby, Sonny and Kenneth Wicker; and three sisters, Charlene Wicker, Lois Lattie and Mary Robinson.Funeral services will be held at 10am on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel with visitation being held from 4pm – 7pm on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Floral Haven Funeral Home. Burial will be at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.The family has requested memorials be made to “Folds of Honor” or to the Disabled American Veteran’s (DAV).
