Leon Boomershine's Obituary
Leon Eugene Boomershine was born October 15, 1936 to Roy and Pauline (Barton) Boomershine. He passed away surrounded by his family on August 7, 2019.He was a dedicated family man who lived life to the very fullest. He enjoyed the simple things in life like new socks, jeep rides, naps, and black coffee. He loved spending time with the love of his life, his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brother, and sisters.Leon loved working. He was a brilliant entrepreneur, and started several successful small businesses throughout his long career in the construction and real estate industries.Leon’s love for racing was known by all who knew him. He was a legend at race tracks across green country. He sponsored and supported four generations of dirt track racers, and always put his drivers in nothing but the best equipment. Many of his closest life long friends came from relationships build at the track. Over the last 50 years he rarely missed a weekend.Leon has blessed more lives than we will ever know and he will be greatly missed by all that knew him.Visitation will take place on Sunday, August 11 from 2 pm – 8 pm and Monday, August 12 from 8 am – 8 pm.A graveside service will be at 10 am on Tuesday, August 13 at Garden of Reflections in the Floral Haven Cemetery.
