Leonard Gardner McCorkle's Obituary
Leonard Gardner McCorkle was born October 26, 1926 in Wheatley, Arkansas and passed away September 24, 2016 in Chouteau, Oklahoma. Leonard was one of twelve children born to Thomas and Emma McCorkle. Shortly after his birth the family moved to Oklahoma. Leonard later met and married the love of his life Rosetta and were married for 61 years. Together the couple had three children, Michael, Janice and Terry. Leonard always had a very strong work ethic and always provided for his family. Leonard moved his family to California in 1956 for work and eventually retired from his own welding business in 1987. After he retired he moved back home to Oklahoma and spent most of his time fishing and hunting. Leonard will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. Leonard is survived by his son, Michael McCorkle; grandchildren, Crystal McCorkle, Marcie Swasho and her husband David, Christine McCorkle and Janelle Hoxsie; great-grandchildren Ti, Lilly, Alyssa, Ema Rae, GInger and Genevieve and numerous other family members and friends. Leonard is preceded in passing by his spouse Rosetta McCorkle; daughter Janice Hoxsie and son TerryMcCorkle There will be a visitation Thursday, September 29, 2016 from 5-7 p.m. at Floral Haven Funeral Home Funeral Services will be Friday, September 30, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
