Leonard Hugh Shultz's Obituary
Leonard Hugh Shultz, 90 of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed from this life on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born January 2, 1931 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to his parents, William Sherril Shultz and Billie Gains Shultz. On December 30, 1955 Leonard married the love of his life, Clara Ruth Cox and they began sharing their lives together for the next 65 years.
He served in the United States Navy during the Korean war and was honorably discharged. Returning home Leonard worked as a meat cutter for Safeway/Homeland Stores for 42 years.
He loved spending time with friends and family, laughing and sharing stories. His last great adventure was a trip to Washington DC as a member of the Oklahoma Warriors Honor Flight in October of 2017.
Leonard is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Clara Shultz of the home; two daughters, Cheryl Dodge and her husband Larry of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Vicky Murphy and her husband Ron of Little Elm, Texas; one grandson, Chris Sheets of Collinsville, Oklahoma; a sister, Lillian Higgins of Tulsa, Oklahoma; four nephews, Dudley Higgins, Kenneth Higgins, Father Leonard Higgins and Ron Shultz; and many friends and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stepmom, Mae Shultz, and two siblings, Theodore and George “Mack” Shultz.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 12, 2021 at Floral Haven Funeral Home.
Due to gravity of the circumstances and the result the pandemic has brought into our lives, current conditions have necessitated measures prohibiting a customary farewell. Funeral services will be held in Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel with limited seating at 12:30 PM on Saturday, February 13, 2021 with interment being private. For those that wish to watch the service via a live-stream feed, instructions are posted at the bottom of this obituary.
