Leonard Skeehan's Obituary
Leonard Skeehan of Tulsa, Oklahoma, born June 28, 1941, passed away on February 7, 2019 at the age of 77.Len was a lifelong resident of Tulsa. He joined the military in 1959 serving as an Aircraft Maintenance Crewman in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1962. After serving in the Army, he took advantage of GI Bill and graduated from the University of Tulsa in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. Len ran and owned several small companies during his work career including over 25 years in the landscaping business.Len enjoyed and appreciated life’s simple pleasures. He was an organic gardener long before it was a mainstream practice. He passionately grew tomatoes and shared them with everyone he knew. He raised livestock on his property in Tulsa and “locally sourced” his own beef and eggs. He was a lover of all animals and adopted countless dogs and cats throughout his life. He had a place in his heart for all babies whether they be children, puppies, kittens, chicks or calves.Len is survived by his wife, Laura Tidwell; two children, David Skeehan and Lynn Skeehan Tidwell; two sisters, Irene Skeehan and Alice Childers; daughter-in-law Debbie Skeehan; and granddaughter Pearl. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Irene Skeehan.
