Leong Tchen's Obituary
Leong was a man of great strength and integrity. He left behind great success in the country he knew so well to make a better life for his family and give them a greater opportunity. Leaving behind the only life he had ever known to go to a place of enormous potential. He came to the United States with 14 family members and a glimmer in his eye. Neither him or any family member spoke English at the time nor knew what they were going to do for a living. With his wife, mother, kids, 1 grandchild and a nephew in tow they made the journey to a new land. Leong and his wife worked any job they could get and saved every dime they could spare to reach their dream of starting another business in their new country. Together they built a successful restaurant, not once but twice and were finally able to retire after years of hard work. The whole goal of making it was to sit back and enjoy their family and watch it grow. At the end of his life he had 7 children and their spouses, 9 grandchildren and their spouses, 8 great grandchildren and 1 more on the way. Even in the end he was surrounded by the family that he loved so much.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Anh Tran; wife, Net Tchen and brother, Minh Luong.
Survivors include his children, Anh Luong and husband, An Tieu, Mai Collins, My Luong, Lien Alsup and husband, Mike, Hon Luong, Courtney Tchen Rodriguez and Kiet Luong and wife, Amanda; grandchildren, Joe Tieu and wife Cheryl, Diana Tieu and husband, Sywei Doun, Jessica Collins, Sarah Roach and husband, Shawn, Ryan Luong, Maylee Rodriguez, Madison Luong, Brandon Luong and Jayli Rodriguez; great grandchildren, Kate Tieu, Gaven Kopp, Eli Ruiz, Olivia Kopp, Isaac Ruiz, Emilia Doun, Elliott Doun and Logan Roach; numerous other relatives.
