LeRoy Pennyman's Obituary
LeRoy Pennyman, 60 of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed from this life on Friday, December 28, 2018 at his home in Tulsa with his family by his side. He was born February 4, 1958 in Barnesville, Georgia to his parents, Thomas Walker and Blanche Pennyman.LeRoy moved to Tulsa from Thomaston, Georgia in 1989 to attend Rhema Bible College where he completed his Pastoral Studies in 1991. After completing his studies at Rhema Bible College he went to work for Price Mart where he worked as a Produce Manager and then later when the company was acquired by Reasor’s he was promoted to Store Director.LeRoy loved and was a loyal fan of the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, and the Georgia Bulldogs even after moving to Oklahoma. He loved to study and live God’s word and was even a youth leader at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Yatesville, Georgia and was a youth minister volunteer at New Life Church in Thomaston, Georgia.LeRoy loved to teach and mentor youth by being a former Scout Master for Troop 133 in Georgia. Also, during his leadership, he mentored the first African American Eagle Scout Troop in the Flint River District in Georgia.LeRoy loved people and was a true family man who loved to brag about his family. He Loved to watch cowboy and army movies, was a history buff, loved sports and loved to fish and cook what he caught.He is survived by his loving wife of 30 beautiful years, Pamela Marshall Pennyman; one daughter, Ashley E. Pennyman; one son, John M. Pennyman; one brother, Curtis Pennyman; two sisters, Elizabeth Kendall and Sheila Pennyman; one aunt, Velma Pennyman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Walker and Blanche Pennyman and grandparents, John and Annie Pennyman.Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2018 at Floral Haven Funeral Home with family to receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2018 at Rhema Bible Church Chapel with burial to follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
