Mr. Leslie Battershell's Obituary
Leslie Wayne Battershell passed away on August 23, 2023, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Born on February 16, 1952, in Edmond, Oklahoma, Les was the son of Joe Battershell. Les had an exceptional zest for life and an unwavering dedication to his passions. He attended Meeker High School, where he formed lasting friendships. After graduation, he embarked on a journey filled with countless adventures. Les enjoyed spending time with family and friends, hot rod car shows, caring for horses, and ministering to the racetrack and farm communities across Oklahoma as a Chaplain. Family held a special place in Leslie's heart, and he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. His grandsons Riley and Blake were his pride and joy. Leslie will be remembered for his infectious energy and vibrant personality. He was a jokester who always had a twinkle in his eye and a witty remark on his lips. His outgoing nature meant that he never met a stranger. He effortlessly built connections and brought people together with his genuine kindness and positivity.
He is survived by his daughter Leslie Schrae Rainey and husband DJ, sister Zonita Faye Battershell, brother David Joe Battershell and wife Nancy, grandchildren Riley Jake Rainey, Blake Daniel Rainey, nieces Emily Battershell and Molly Battershell, and nephew Lucas Battershell.
He is preceded in death by his father, Joe Leslie Battershell and step-mother Norma Battershell.
A celebration of life gathering will be Friday, Sept 15, 2023 at 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM at Floral Haven Family Center
