Leslie P Robinson's Obituary
Robinson, Leslie Petree passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 20, 2009. Leslie, son of the late Reverend Chester and Della Robinson was born February 5, 1930 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He was one of eight children. His two sisters, Pearl Paris and Opal Ruth Stanke, and brothers, William, Max, C.L., and Donald Robinson were waiting at Heaven’s gate to greet him. His remaining brother, Ronald Robinson and his wife Rhetta, live in Tulsa, OK. He is survived by his loving wife, Doris Hooper Robinson. He leaves behind a daughter, Cherri Phelps and husband Doug Phelps, and their children, Joshua, Jacob, and Jonathon. Son, James Robinson and wife, Nikki, and children, Chad and Jami, and her life partner, Julio Rodriguez, and children, Dante, Olivia, and Joseph. And a son, David Robinson and wife Beth, and their son, Samuel. Leslie married Doris on November 23, 1949 after he was introduced to her while visiting a friend in Texas. Leslie’s father, Reverend Robinson performed the ceremony. Leslie was in the Korean War and after leaving the service, he returned to the states to work his way through college to graduate from the University of Houston with an Electrical Engineering degree. He eventually retired from NMP where he enjoyed a rewarding career as an Electrical Design Engineer, traveling to places around the world such as China, Australia, and most of the major shipyards in the U.S. lending his expertise. He was greatly loved as a husband, father, and friend. Services will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, January 22, 2009 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, 6500 S. 129th E.
