Lewis Jerome Ferree's Obituary
Lewis Jerome Ferree. Born March 15, 1926 in Coffeyville, Kansas and died January 7, 2011 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Lewis joined the United States Navy when he was seventeen and served in the South Pacific as a hospital Corpsman during World War Two. After the war he returned to Coffeyville , Kansas and wed Leona Ferne Steele whre they settled and began raising their family, eventually moving to Tulsa in 1962. Lewis worked as a Quality Control Inspector in the Aero Space Industry until 1971. He went into the cooling tower business, eventully forming his own company, which allowed him to travel the country with his wife, and granddaughter Jennifer. Lewis and his wife Leona were very active in their church, the Central Church of the Nazarene. Lewis is survived by four children (Stephen Wayne, David Alan, Linda Joy Meneguzzi and Daniel Mark), nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Lewis was always even tempered, seldom angry and never loud. Lewis’ kindness and sense of humor was always enjoyed by those he met. He was always ready with a joke or bit of wit. In his words, be humble, and don’t stumble. Services are set for 2 p.m. Thursday, Central Church of the Nazarene, with the family receiving friends 1 p.m.
