Lillian Nadine Brown's Obituary
Lillian Nadine (Zumwalt) Brown, 82, peacefully passed Saturday, June 26, 2010, after battling pneumonia and lung cancer. She was born April 11, 1928, in Tulsa to Grover and Lydia Zumwalt. The family moved to Seminole in 1930, where her dad was a machinist for Sinclair Oil Co. They returned to Tulsa in 1943. Lillian graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1947. She worked for Boulder Bank & Trust for 8 years. She married classmate William E. 'Bill' Brown in 1950; they had three wonderful children: Peggy, Steve and Don. Lillian worked as a pastry cook at the Tulsa Education Ser- vice Center and retired in 1985. She enjoyed staying home, gardening and planning high school class reunions. Her husband died in 2003. Survivors include Peggy and Perry Applewhite, Bryson, TX; Steve and Cindy Brown, Colorado; Don P. and Jean Brown, Oklahoma City; grandchildren Kristin, Lindsey, Michael and Ryan Brown; and Jake Applewhite. Visitation, 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday; service, 3 p.m. Wednesday, both at Floral Haven; reception following. She asked that memorial contributions be directed to the charity of your choice.
