Linda Barnes' Obituary
Funeral services for Linda Carol Barnes, 67, of Sperry, OK. Will be held in private with her immediate family. A family and friendship gathering will be held at a later date.
Linda was born February 19, 1953 in Sperry, OK to James and Bonnie Welch. She passed away April 15, 2020 in Collinsville, OK.
Linda married Floyd Barnes on December 21, 1972. They were happily married for 47 years.
Linda was a very special lady. She was devoted wife, mom, and grandmother who loved taking care of her family. She raised 2 children, 5 grandchildren, and sometimes their friends with an unconditional love. Linda loved going to baseball games, the lake, watching NASCAR, and spending time with her grandchildren. Linda was a speed junky who wasn’t afraid of anything you dared her to do. She enjoyed her girl time with her mom and Darlene. They might end up at the Casino, department store or just go get their nails done. Linda also enjoyed cooking, baking, and making candies. Her favorite holiday was always Christmas, she loved decorating the Christmas tree, helping string the lights outside, and watching all the kids open their presents. Stockings always came last because Nana had a special family treat in the stockings for all the grand kids.
She is survived by her mother, Bonnie Welch; brother Larry Welch and wife, Radonna Welch; husband, Floyd Barnes; Son, Brian Barnes and wife, Melody Barnes; son Jared Barnes and wife, Amy Barnes; 5 grand kids Logan, Madison, Hayden, Luke, and Reese; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, James Welch.
