Linda Carnes' Obituary
Linda Marie Carnes, 81, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. She was born on April 7, 1944, in Tulsa to Orla and Gladys Carnes. Although adopted, Linda was deeply cherished and loved by her parents and her entire adoptive family. Because of that love, Linda developed a profound affection for children, and they were naturally drawn to her warmth and kindness. Linda dedicated her life to education, working for Tulsa Public Schools from September 1966 until her retirement in May 2006. Her commitment to students and colleagues left a lasting impact on the community she loved. On July 7, 2018, Linda married her longtime partner and love, Mary Beth Bishop. Together, they shared a life filled with devotion and joy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orla and Gladys Carnes. Linda is survived by her beloved wife, Mary Beth Bishop of the home; brother-in-law Raymond Bishop and wife Donna; niece Angela Thomas and husband Jeff, along with their children Jordan and Addison Thomas; nephew Matthew Bishop and wife Angela, along with their children Hagen and Kinsley Bishop; her Aunt Javada Bishop; cousins Brent Bishop, Blake Bishop, Brooke Bishop, Jonna Reddell and husband Johnny, Elaine Perigo and husband Johnny, and Scott Reddell. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Center of Light, 3316 E 21st St, Tulsa, OK 74114, officiated by Rev. Monica McIntyre. Linda’s final resting place will be at Floral Haven. Linda will be remembered for her kindness, dedication, and the love she shared with family and friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
