Linda Kay Lusk's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Kay Lusk. Linda was born on December 14, 1942, in Blackwell, Oklahoma to Ralph Lavern and Ruth Lusk and departed this world on May 29, 2024, from St Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt, and friend.
Linda was a loving mother survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Breckelyn and Matthias Steffens. She adored her grandchildren, Jonathan and Lauren Lyddon, and great-grandson, Taylor Brooks Lyddon. Linda was a devoted dog mom to Coco, her loyal companion for 15 years. Linda is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Derry and Gail Lusk, cousins Michele (Shelly) Hughes, her son Mark, Deanie Moore, her sons Matt and Scott and Pat Moore, as well as nieces and nephews, Derra and Brent Meyer, Ty Lusk, Ryan and Misty Lusk, and Reede and Marcie Lusk. She held dear friendships with Shirley Sanders, Linda Roggendorff, Melyn Bellatti and so many more.
Linda’s memberships include, President of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, National officer in Angel Flight drill team, Marketing Club, Young Republican Club. She was an active member of the Unity Church and Republican Women’s Club of Tulsa. Her honors were Redskin Beauty, Football Queen, and National Honor Society.
Linda received her bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University (major Clothing Design, minor, Interior Design) and went on to pursue fulfilling endeavors around the globe. Most notably, she designed and managed a Cowboy Town in Belgium at an amusement park called Bobbejaanland. Linda loved to cook and entertain, whether she was hosting friends in Saint Louis, Detroit, Phoenix, Lichtaart, Baton Rouge, or Tulsa. Due to never staying in one place for long, she always told Breck “she was well drug up.”
Linda loved to golf; it was at Indian Springs Country Club that she met the love of her life, Jim Pharr. Through Jim, she developed a love for basketball. They regularly traveled with two different teams for away games. It was a humorous scene when the couple - both short in stature - stood alongside many players towering well over six feet. Jim passed in 2011 and it broke Linda’s heart, but not her spirit. Linda's passion for painting brought her immense joy and fulfillment in recent years, and she created many beautiful works of art.
Linda was a bold force in this world. She was full of life and loved to live adventurously. Her last two trips - to Egypt and Europe - were special ones. Traveling to Egypt was a longtime dream and she loved every minute she spent there. In Europe, she and Breck spent a meaningful week and half revisiting many areas they had lived and traveled together when Breck was a child. She touched the lives of many with her free-spirited nature and vibrant personality, truly never meeting a stranger.
Linda will be missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched with her kindness, creativity, and love. May she rest in peace. We welcome you to share your memories and condolences with the family, here on Linda's tribute page.
