Linda Eloise Smith's Obituary
Services for Linda Eloise Lamb Smith of Tulsa were Tuesday, July 11 at 11 a.m. at Memorial Baptist Church. Linda died Sunday, July 9 in Tulsa. She was 66. Born Jan. 20, 1940, in Ardmore to Don and Leta (Chambers) Lamb, Linda spent her entire education in Ardmore, graduating from Ardmore High School in 1958. Linda worked for the Medical Arts Clinic until she married her high school sweetheart, William F. Smith, in 1960. The two then moved to Stillwater, and while her husband attended college at Oklahoma State University, Linda worked on campus at the University Hospital. In 1961, Bill and Linda welcomed a daughter, Shea, and in 1964, a son, Linc. Soon after, the family made their home in Tulsa. Linda spent her life devoted to those around her. Her children, and later her grandchildren, were the lights of her life, and she was a faithful member of Memorial Baptist Church since 1964. Linda was active in her church, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School, traveling abroad on mission trips, serving on the pulpit committee and even preparing weekly meals as the church hostess. Linda was especially dedicated to the relationships she had with the women from Bible Study Fellowship and, most recently, her cancer support group. A hostess by nature, Linda loved to have people in her home. She spent countless hours in her kitchen, preparing meals for everything from dinner parties with friends to holidays with her family to simple dinners with her husband. She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Leta Lamb; her father-in-law, Jack Smith; and her daughter, Shea Smith Gruenberg. Linda is survived by her husband, Bill, of the home; her sister, Donna Stroman and her husband, John, of Ardmore; her son, Linc and his wife, Lynne, of Tulsa; her son-in-law, Robert Gruenberg, of Claremore; her mother-in-law, Augusta Smith, of Ardmore; and her five beloved grandchildren: Natalie Gruenberg of Tulsa, Ross and Blake Gruenberg of Claremore, and Andrew and Aaron Smith of Tulsa.
