Linda Joyce Stokes' Obituary
On the 3d of March, 1953 a beautiful baby girl was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to the union of Oley Calvin and Marie Delores Warren. They named their precious angel Linda Joyce. Linda attended St. Andrews Baptist Church as a child and accepted Christ at an early age.Linda attended the historic Booker T. Washington High School, class of 1971. She played the clarinet and was active in the marching band. She participated in the cosmetology program while attending Booker T. She later pursued and achieved success by received her instructor’s license and opening and operating her own salon. Linda was a talented stylist that had flare for fashion.Linda later married the love of her life Wilbert Stokes on August 14, 1970. During her lifetime, she worked for the City of Tulsa and Miss Jackson’s displaying her skills designing hair for women across Tulsa. Ultimately Wilbert and Linda Stokes would spend 46 beautiful years together.Linda enjoyed singing and creating floral arrangements using her favorite flowers, roses and Cala Lilies. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. Linda was a beautiful caring person, who never met a stranger.Linda was preceded in death by her father Oley C. Warren. She is survived by her husband, Wilbert Stokes; her mother Marie D. Warren. Her loving children: Wilisa Stokes, Nichola James and Ashantie Tillman (Anthony). Her amazing grandchildren: Kae’ran Stokes, Kay’Lie Stokes, Casey Stokes, Antoinette Tillman, Damien Tillman, Anthony Tillman Jr., Nadia James Stokes and William Stokes James. Her siblings, Nancy Gordon (Claude) of Tulsa, OK, Calvin Warren (Connie) of Tulsa, OK, Margie Warren of Oklahoma City, OK, Delois Norton of Tulsa, OK and Radonna Haywood of Tulsa, OK. Linda is survived by a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends. Funeral Services Honoring the Life of Linda Joyce Stokes will be 10:00 am Friday, December 9, 2016 in the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, followed by interment, Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Visitation will be 10:00 am to 8:00 pm Thursday, December 8, 2016, Floral Haven Funeral Home, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma
