LoEvea Marie Royce's Obituary
LoEvea Marie Royce was born to Clarence and Lulu (Coonrod) Lorette on April 6, 1931, in Oilton, Oklahoma. She departed this life on August 7, 2024, at the age of 93. LoEvea touched the lives of many with her zest for life and free-spirited nature. She will be forever missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
LoEvea was the third of five daughters born to Clarence and Lulu. She would grow up and attend school in Salem, Illinois. While in school, she was an active cheerleader, a basketball player, and without a doubt, one of the biggest flirts to graduate from Salem High School.
In 1949, LoEvea would marry the love of her life, Thomas Edward “Tom” Royce, sharing 67 wonderful years of love and adventure together. LoEvea and Tom were blessed with four children: Geraldine, Thomas Jr, Loretta, and Michael. This power couple, with their good looks and love for each other, would set an example for their children and spouses to follow in the years to come.
Grandma (as known by her family) made loving and caring for her family her true calling. She helped build a special lifetime of memories through camping trips, cub scouts, family vacation, sports, and above all, attending church while making a confession of faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
LoEvea was a hard worker who always helped support her family. Grandma worked in the school cafeteria, sold Avon, was a salesperson at Clarks in Utica Square, and in early days, an operator in a department store in downtown Tulsa. Grandma and Grandpa made frequent trips to watch their sons participate in sports from elementary school all the way through college.
It was during retirement that Grandma LoEvea and Grandpa Tom had time to slow down and enjoy numerous activities. A time for morning walks to riding the Arkansas Train; time to make that leisurely trip to Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville and watch their first grandchild play basketball; or time to watch their grandson play collegiate baseball in western Oklahoma. Time to turn their yard into a show case of beautiful plants and flowers; a time to use Grandpa's skill of repair and Grandma's gift of gab to turn garage sells and flea markets into a profitable endeavor; and time to travel making trips to the World's Fair in New Orleans, Boston, New York, Washington D.C. and Niagara Falls. Time to enjoy all the activities of her grandkids always took priority. These precious memories were a comfort to LoEvea in the years following the passing of her beloved Tom. She told her family many times that she has lived a "good life." Those who believe know that LoEvea is now in heaven with a smile on her face, walking hand in hand with the love of her life, her devoted husband of 67 years, Tom.
LoEvea is survived by her two daughters, Geraldine “Gerry” Marie Fate of Sperry, OK, and Loretta Bloomer and her husband Bob of Gore, OK; her two sons, Thomas Jr and his wife Debbie Royce of Broken Arrow, OK, and Michael and his wife Wanda Royce of Lexington, TX. She leaves to cherish her memory, her eight grandchildren: Stephanie and her husband Aaron Shieldnight of Wagoner, OK; Keith and his wife Desirae Bloomer of Gore, OK; Travis Fate of Owasso, OK; Tammy Fate of Oklahoma City, OK; Thomas and his wife Kenzie Royce of Bixby, OK; Andrew Royce of Broken Arrow, OK; Matthew and his wife Stephanie Royce of Houston, TX; and Kamber and her husband Jason Jackson of Weatherford, TX.
LoEvea leaves behind nine great-grandchildren: Zoé and her husband Devin Rust of Hesston, KS; Gracy Shieldnight and Alexander Shieldnight of Wagoner, OK; Cameron Fate and Vanessa of Bartlesville, OK; Maddox Royce and Ellasyn Royce of Bixby, OK; Kaylor Jackson of Weatherford, TX; and Grady Royce of Houston, TX.
Additionally, she is survived by two great-great-grandsons: Bentley Fate of Bartlesville, OK, and Kayden Rust of Hesston, KS, as well as her sister Betty Rosser of Oklahoma City, OK.
