LOIS BARFIELD, 84, Tulsa, OK Lois Loretta Barfield, 84 of Tulsa, went to her heavenly Father August 16, 2018.Visitation will be held at Floral Haven, 6500 S. 129th Ave, Broken Arrow on Sunday, August 19, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Family will be present from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.The funeral service will be held at Christ The Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2550 E 71st St, Tulsa, OK 74136, on Monday, August 20, 2018 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Floral Haven Cemetery, 6500 S. 129th Ave, Broken Arrow.Lois was born in El Dorado, KS to Clarence and Martha Srader (née Rahjes) on March 28, 1934. She met Johnny while a parish worker in Fort Worth. In addition to raising her children Lois spent years teaching piano lessons, selling Tupperware, was active as a youth group leader, LWML, choir and Sunday School. In later years she went back to school to get her M.Ed. and began her second (third, fourth, fifth?) career as a school teacher. After “retiring” as a school teacher, Lois continued to volunteer and thoroughly enjoyed being “nana” with all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. An avid reader, Lois was instrumental in establishing the day school at Our Savior Lutheran Church and the library there is named in her honor. Always known for her engaging personality and her gourmet talents in the kitchen, an invitation to a dinner party or other event with Lois in charge was sure to be a memorable evening.Lois is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Martha, brother Marvin and sisters Mildred (Millie) Layman and Pearl Biar.Lois is survived by her brother Melvin, husband Johnny, sons Randy and Kelton, daughters Blythe Waugh and Michelle Martens, 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association – Oklahoma chapter, https://www.alz.org/oklahoma 2448 E. 81st Street, Suite 3000, Tulsa, OK 74137.
