Lois Bonds Ellison's Obituary
Lois Bonds Ellison was born to Albert and Lucinda Bonds, January 1, 1922.
She graduated from Carver High School, Gadsden, Alabama.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband William Charles, her parents, her siblings, Samuel Bonds, Altoria Lawton and Florence Sullivan. She is survived by her brother Walter L. Bonds, New York.
In 1941 on the 27th of July, Lois was united in marriage to William Charles Ellison.
To this marriage two daughters were added: Dolores Blanks of Kansas City, Missouri, and June Marie Brown (Alvin) of Tulsa, Oklahoma. There are four grandchildren - Melissa (Vernon) Armstrong, Lamont Littles, Shelli Brown, and Justin (Tonya) Brown; eleven great grandchildren – Malisa Smith Armstrong, Maurice Armstrong, Mikhal (Imani) Armstrong, Kenyan (Ashley) Armstrong, Mayson Littles, Alyxandrea Littles, Isabella Littles, Anthony Littles, Riley Brown, Landon Brown and Monroe Brown; three great great-grandchildren – Isaiah White, Zuri Armstrong and Zyan Armstrong.
Lois was not only dedicated to her family but also to the community by serving as President of Washington Wheatley Neighborhood Association for ten years which included the building of Wheatley House, a ten-unit home for mobile senior citizens and in her church, Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church.
