Lois Marie Hicks' Obituary
Lois Marie (Hash) Hicks was born to Estell and Bertha (Bristol) Hash on March 10, 1931 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She was met on the other side of that eastern gate and is walking on streets of gold pain free on September 1, 2012 by her parents, her husband of 60 years, Hershel Sidney Hicks, granddaughter Amy Jo Hicks, brother Bill Hash, sisters Lela “Hash” Rogers, Shirley “Hash” Turner. Lois was a lifelong resident of Broken Arrow. She had worked at several of the Broken Arrow landmarks, but had been with Wal-Mart for 16 years as a customer service manager. Lois and Hershel made many trips to Branson, Missouri over the last 40 years. They knew everyone there, and had many, many friends among that area. Hershel was even know to perform and sing with various groups. They shared a wonderful life together, and to this union there were five children, Terry Wayne and Sheila Carol (Davidson) Hicks, Richard Eugene and Debby Kay (Chaney) Hicks, Kenneth Bradley and Shirley (Slaughter) Hicks, Kelly Ann (Hicks) and Gregory Landsford, Jeffrey Gordon and Dana Lynn (Graham) Hicks. There are 26 grandchildren, Melissa, Todd, Darren, Katy, Kevin, Adam, Julie, Vanessa, Josh, Heather, Gregg, April, Julie, Trelayne,April, Logan, Chris, Danielle, Rachel, Arturo, Chad, Tami, Danya, Rich, Austin, Samantha, Lois is also survived by 27 great-grandchildren, Megan, Matthew, Emilynn, Maggie, Emma, Libby, Hunter, Avery, Allie, Haley, Garrett, Jackson, Paige, Riley, Jillian, Taytum, Amiyah, Kaison, Kyle, Jordan, Dalton, Chloe, Lucas, Jace, Bentley, Brayden, Brody, and 2 great-great- grandchildren Raniah, Ezra, and one on the way. Lois also survived by her sisters, Jane Moore , Connie Hawks, Linda Graham, Martha Hash, and her brothers Jerry, Pete, David, four aunts, Lucille Wolfe, Janelle Kirkland, Pauline Norton, Mary McMillan. There are numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members as well as countless friends. Lois well be remembered as a very caring and giving person, loving her God and her family, never meeting a stranger.
