Lorie J. Becnel's Obituary
Lorie Jayne Becnel went home to be with the Lord on November 17, 2020 at age 59.
Lorie was born to Emmert and Fern Knudsen on January 4, 1961 in Harlan, Iowa. As a child, she enjoyed being outside and helping her family on the farm, being involved in choir and band, and summers as a camp counselor at Okoboji Lutheran Bible Camp.
Lorie met her husband, Lyle in 1982 at Red Lobster in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They married June 18, 1983 and went on to have 2 children, Joshua and Kara. In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, Lorie also loved volunteering at church, dancing with Lyle, cruising with friends, and playing with her grandkids. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her.
Lorie joins her father, Emmert Knudsen and in-laws, Joseph and Marguerite Becnel in Heaven. She is survived by her mother, Fern, siblings, Krisie, Jamie, and Monte, husband, Lyle, son and daughter in-law, Josh and Amanda, grandchildren Lucy and Charlie, daughter and son in-law, Kara and Tanner, grandchildren Norah, Ellis, and expectant baby Kean and several other family and friends who loved her dearly.
Lorie loved opening her home to countless friends and family over the years. Her hospitality and smile always left them feeling loved and welcomed.
Her legacy will live on through all those that she came in contact with.
