Lorna Lillian Toll's Obituary
Lorna was born in Barrett, Minnesota, on January 23, 1921 to her loving parents, Emma and Charles Oldenburg. She had great stories to tell about her childhood on the farm and being the only girl growing up with 8 brothers. When she was thirteen years old, her parents sold the family farm and moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She graduated from Wauwatosa High School and soon after, she married her first husband, who was later killed in World War II. She married Bill on October 15th, 1948.While Lorna’s main occupation was homemaker, she took on any task that would meet the needs of others. Bill’s car business benefitted from her bookkeeping skills and her grandchildren appreciated their Nene’s watchful care even when she chased them with a wooden spoon for their misdeeds. She was President of the Milwaukee Women’s Aglow organization, and for years, Bill and Lorna had a prayer group in their home in Wisconsin on Friday nights. In 1987, she and Bill moved to Tulsa and became members of the church where her sharing of God’s love continued and she also took care of her younger grandchildren. On Friday, March 30th, 2007, she went home to be with our Lord and be reunited with Bill. At the time of her passing, she was surrounded by family and friends who expressed their love as they said goodbye. Lorna was preceded in death by Bill, seven brothers and a great grandson. Her life and ministry touched and blessed countless people, and today we celebrate her life of serving and loving othersSurvived By: daughters, Sue Burgh and Darlene Fagin, brother Charles, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren
