Lorraine May Estes' Obituary
It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Lorraine May Estes, born March 22, 1952, who left this world peacefully on September 13, 2025. Born to Daniel F. Staehle, Sr. and Eleanor R. (Maxson) Staehle, Lorraine’s early years were not always easy, but they shaped the strength, resilience, and independence that defined her life. She built her own path, creating a family and a legacy filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. Lorraine dedicated her later years to serving others as a Registered Nurse, where she cared for countless patients with compassion and dignity. She had a special place in her heart for the elderly, and her gentle touch brought comfort and peace to many. Her fiery, outspoken nature made her unforgettable—ornery in the best way, never afraid to speak her mind, stand her ground, or share a laugh that lit up the room. Deeply spiritual, Lorraine loved to learn and carried with her an endless curiosity about the world. She embraced many skills and hobbies, always seeking new ways to express her creativity and joy. She had a special admiration for Native American culture, which reflected her deep respect for tradition and connection to nature. She was always busy with projects and pursuits, her energy evident in everything she did — except for the rare moments she allowed herself to slow down with a cup of coffee or while sitting peacefully by the ocean, one of her favorite places to be. Lorraine’s greatest pride and joy were her children, Aaron Wilson and Miranda Burright. She was the loving grandmother of Alyssa, Sean, Julian, Jeremiah, Ronnie James, Rockstar, and Adrianna, and great-grandmother to John, Willow, and Renesmae.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Daniel F. Staehle, Jr. She is survived by her sisters, Veronica Staehle, Regina Staehle, and Florence Melo, along with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry her spirit forward for generations. Above all, Lorraine will be remembered for her compassion, her strength, and her unwavering ability to live life on her own terms.
