Medeiros, Louis Cyril's Obituary
Louis Medeiros Jr., beloved father, friend, and passionate music lover, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 89. Born on November 26, 1935, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Louis Medeiros Sr. and Helen Marie Tavares, Louis lived a life full of curiosity, joy, and a deep love for the things that brought him peace and excitement.
A man of quiet strength and humility, Louis found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved his TV and music and his fantastic sound system. His taste in music was wide ranging, listening to bands like the Alan Parsons Project, Santana, Jethro Tull, Steely Dan, and crooners like Johnny Mathis were his favorite.
Louis had a love for adventure in all its forms. He reveled in action movies, always fascinated by a good plot and thrilling scenes. He also spent many hours immersed in books, with a particular fondness for works by Clive Cussler and Ian Fleming. He loved nature and animals. In his younger years he had an artistic streak and enjoyed sketching out military planes and artillery and birds with great detail.
A true connoisseur of life, Louis had an adventurous palate and loved exploring new foods, finding joy in flavors that many others might shy away from. His kind and gentle nature made him a cherished friend, someone who stood by those he cared about with loyalty and strength. Humble and soft-spoken, Louis's presence was one that made people feel valued and heard, and he was known for his unwavering support of those around him.
Louis is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Emojean Bethina Medeiros, his parents, his son Jon Medeiros and daughter Darlene Jackson.
Louis is survived by his children Nick Nichols and wife Michelle, Louis H. Medeiros and wife Deneen, and Elaine Moore and husband Duane, grandchildren Lara Pate, Jeremiah Jones and wife Jennifer, Joy Nichols, Daniel Nichols, Alyssa Nichols, Sheree Schlemme, Jon Medeiros Jr., Amy Goad and husband Cameron, Andrea Koogler and husband Chris, Andrew Medeiros and wife Faith, Israel Harmon and wife Tiffany, Whitney Thompson and husband TwJuan, Jade DeVenny and husband Zakc, Renae Moore, and Jasmine Medeiros. And lastly, a host of (20) great grandchildren!
Celebration of life service will be held Friday, January 10th, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel
