Altice, Louise Nichols' Obituary
Louise Nichols Altice passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 87.
Born on November 20, 1938, in Rocky Mount, Virginia, Louise was the daughter of Samuel T. Nichols and Bertha Ola Nichols. She was preceded in death by her parents and her four siblings.
Louise grew up in Rocky Mount and graduated from Franklin County High School in 1955. During her high school years, she met the love of her life, Robert Randolph Altice. The two were high school sweethearts and were married on August 16, 1957, beginning a remarkable journey together that would span nearly 69 years.
Shortly after their marriage, Robert accepted a position in Norfolk, Virginia, and the couple embarked on a life filled with adventure, opportunity, and unwavering devotion to one another. Throughout Robert’s business equipment career, Louise and Robert made more than 20 homes across the country, living in Virginia, New Jersey, Ohio, Kansas, Missouri, New York, Georgia, Mississippi, and eventually settling in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, where they spent the last 16 years of their marriage.
Louise and Robert shared a love story built on trust, faithfulness, and partnership. Together they weathered difficult times and celebrated prosperous ones. They made decisions as a team, supported one another through every stage of life, and remained devoted soulmates throughout their marriage. Louise was Robert’s greatest supporter, always encouraging him in his career and willingly embracing each new move and opportunity. She confidently managed their home and family, allowing Robert to pursue his professional goals, knowing everything else was in capable hands.
No matter where life took her, Louise had a gift for making friends. She formed lasting friendships in every community she called home and remained in touch with many of those friends throughout her life.
Louise is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Altice; her children, Karen Arras and husband Kurt, Bob Altice and wife Kris, and Richard Altice and wife Pamela; her grandchildren, Jack Altice and wife Isabel, Kathleen Perry and husband Mike, Celeste Walters and husband Reid, Anna Gough and husband Chris, and Rachel Altice; and her great-grandchildren, Ella Louise Altice, Lily Margaret Altice, and Luke Robert Altice.
A devoted mother, Louise nurtured her children through each family's move, helping them adapt to new schools, communities, and experiences. She encouraged them to pursue academic success, treat others with kindness, and strive to become the best versions of themselves. She was immensely proud of her children and never missed an opportunity to tell others about their accomplishments.
As wonderful a mother as she was, Louise was an even greater grandmother. Known affectionately as “Gramma Weezie,” “G-WB,” or simply “Weezie,” she cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. She eagerly stepped in whenever help was needed, caring for her grandchildren during their parents’ travels, driving them to school and activities, preparing their favorite meals, showering them with gifts, and creating memories they would treasure forever. Each grandchild shared a unique and special bond with her, and they remained close throughout her life.
Louise also possessed a wonderful sense of humor. Laughter was always present in the Altice home, and she had a special ability to bring joy and warmth to those around her. Her kindness, wit, and loving spirit left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Louise will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. Her legacy of love, loyalty, generosity, and devotion to family will continue to live on for generations to come.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on June 20, 2026.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Broken Arrow Neighbors.
