Louise Bohanon was born in Kinta, Oklahoma, February 7, 1918, to Elmer J. Bohanon and Myrtle Riddle Bohanon. Louise was the second of five children. At 2 years, Louise and her family moved to Sardis, Oklahoma. Louise worked in the fields with her father and brother, William Bohanon. The days were long and hard, but she continued until she married. Her outdoor experience mostly likely helped developed her talent for gardening, flower, plants and vegetables. As she received, Louise freely gave to Calvary's membership: working in the library, preparing or serving meals for special occasions, supporting the youth ministry with parties and transportation to Falls Creek Baptist Assembly, starting tole painting and ceramics classes, and providing a planning and a place for Sunday School Class parties. Later, Louise joined the 39s group and took many memorable trips. Louise served her community, also. She was a Cub Scout leader, a Girl Scout leader, and provided treats for school parties. Her artistic abilities were shared, for she donated her completed work to organizations, such as the Tiawah Fire Department's Annual Fish Fry to assist in raising funds. Lawson and Louise began and built a family business. The Flinchum Construction Company grew with the knowledge of his trade and Louise to assist him with through office skills and keeping financial records.
