Lowanda Johnson's Obituary
Lowanda Johnson was born and raised in Ada, Oklahoma to Willie and Lora Townsend. She was married to Byrl Ray Johnson for 33 years. They had 2 children, Cindy Crouch of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Wes Johnson of Edmond, Oklahoma. She started out as a PBX Operator with Southwestern Bell and also worked for T.L. Osborn Ministries. Her favorite job was as the receptionist for T.D. Williamson, Inc where she earned their top honor as President’s Award Winner as the company’s top employee. The employees there treated her like family and she returned the favor.Lowanda had an identical twin sister, Ufonda Potter whom she dearly loved. They would wear the same clothes when they were younger to fool their friends and classmates.She loved to attend any live sporting events or concerts. She attended Elvis’ two concerts in Tulsa with her daughter Cindy and many Branson events together. She also attended many OU games with her son, Wes and always watched the Sooners on TV. She was also an avid runner, amassing more than 20 medals later in life and completing her goal of the 9.3 mile Tulsa Run.She got her granddaughter Tina involved in English riding classes and always enjoyed watching her ride. Lowanda also enjoyed taking Tina shopping and enjoying a Starbucks and good conversation in between their favorite stores.Lowanda enjoyed attending Evangelistic Temple and First United Methodist Church where the Ambassador Class considered her their prayer warrior.She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Crouch and son-in-law Gary Crouch and granddaughter Tina. Also, her son Wes Johnson and daughter in law, Penny Johnson and step grandsons Trey and Tyler Romine.Memorial service will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 16th, Spirit Life Church, Tulsa.
