Lucille G. Caldwell's Obituary
Lucille G. Caldwell passed away on Sunday, February 2 in Fort Smith, AR. She was born on January 7, 1918 in Antlers, OK. She is preceded in death by her husband R.L. (Bud) Caldwell and her son Roy Eugene Caldwell. Her parents were Burt and Annie Songer. She moved to Fort Smith in her teens and later with her husband and children to Tulsa. She is survived by her daughter Margaret Caldwell Lorenz of Woodstock, VA. She was devoted to her four grandsons, John and Steve Lorenz (Myra McGovern) and Roy, Jr. (Meliza) and Neil Caldwell (Liz). Also her great grandchildren Finn, Kyden and Ronan Lorenz, Hannah Iger, and Megan, Chloe and J.C. Caldwell, She was grateful for her many nieces and nephews especially Jerry and JoAnn Dixon, David and Danielle Dixon, Charlotte and Terry Roberson and Joe and Kay Caldwell. Also, the many people who made the last years of her life more comfortable especially her friend Joyce Burcham, the staff at Butterfield Retirement, and the a staff at Chapel Ridge Health and Rehab who eased her way at the close of her life. Lucille loved to travel to Florida and the Bahamas with her two sisters Era Weiche and Veda Dixon where they were known as the Golden Girls. She was a member of Sheridan Road Baptist Church in Tulsa for over 50 years. She worked at Zebco in Tulsa for 15 years. She returned to Fort Smith in 2004. She would like to be remembered for her love of family and friends. A funeral and burial will take place Friday, February 8 at Floral Haven in Broken Arrow. She will rest aside her husband.
