Lucille "Lou" Elizabeth Hollowell's Obituary
Lucille Elizabeth Hollowell, affectionately known as “GG” by her great-grandchildren and family, and "Lou" by her friends, was born on April 3, 1940, in Helena, Arkansas. She peacefully passed away on May 29, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, surrounded by her loved ones.
Lou was born to Grady Shipp and Carrie Galutza of Arkansas. She was a woman of many talents and passions, whose life was richly filled with love, family, and cherished hobbies. Lou was a gifted cook, known for her homemade chocolate pies and fudge. She found joy in oil painting, feeding, and watching hummingbirds, and always enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino. Above all, she was the best mother and homemaker, dedicated to creating a warm and loving environment for her family.
For nearly 22 years, Lou shared a wonderful companionship with her love, Bob Whiten. Together, they provided a secure and loving home, welcoming family and friends with open arms and hearts. Lou and Bob looked forward to social gatherings and always found a way to bring all their loved ones together anytime they could.
Lou was preceded in death by her oldest child, Marsha J. Siders (husband Kevin), brother, “Bubba” and her parents, Grady, and Carrie Shipp.
Lou leaves behind her loving partner, Bobbie Lee Whiten, and her four children: James Anthony “Jimmy” Taylor, Charles Clayton Taylor, Michael Hollowell (wife Lori), and Karen Hollowell. She is also survived by her three brothers and one sister: Sam “Butch” King (wife Carolyn), Joe King (wife Rita), Richard “Ricky” Shipp, and Juanita Cates. Lou’s legacy lives on through her 11 grandchildren: Brandy McKinley, Shawn Siders (wife Marsha), Josh Siders, Chris Taylor, Lisa Taylor, Eric Ruskoski, Molly Ruskoski-Voyles, Brian Taylor, Daniel Taylor, Joy Hollowell, and Reagan Hollowell. Additionally, she was blessed with 17 great-grandchildren: Katelyn, Jacob, Ryan, Mitchell, Marissa, Josiah, Jax, Gunner, Chandler, Brylee, Jayvien, Penelope, John, Jasmine, Charlie, Aidon, and Maverick, and several great-great-grandchildren.
Lou's vibrant spirit, nurturing nature, and unwavering love for her family will be profoundly missed but forever remembered. Her life was a true testament to the importance of family and the joy that comes from shared moments with loved ones. She truly was a remarkable woman with a bold love for life and devotion to her family. Lou will be forever missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
A public visitation will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2024, from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM, at Floral Haven Funeral Home: 6500 S 129th E Ave, Broken Arrow, OK 74012.

Any independent florists may deliver flowers directly to Floral Haven Funeral Home by 11:00 AM on Sunday, June 9, 2024, in order for them to be set out and properly displayed for Lou's visitation.
A funeral service to honor the life of Lou will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, June 10, 2024, at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, located at 6500 S 129th E Ave, Broken Arrow, OK 74012, with Pastor Roy Bingham officiating. Interment will follow at 4:00 PM, immediately after conclusion of the chapel service at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in the Garden of Remembrance.
