Lucinda Kay Campbell's Obituary
Lucinda K. Jennings, affectionately known as Cindy or Cindy Campbell, was born on March 26, 1952, in Chanute, Kansas, to her parents John D. and Betty Jennings. She peacefully passed away at her home on August 24, 2023. Cindy's legacy lives on through the cherished memories she created with her loved ones.
Cindy is survived by her devoted son, Jason Campbell, who was the light of her life. Her granddaughters, Bailee and Brooklyn, brought immeasurable joy and laughter to her days. Cindy's mother, Betty, remained a steadfast presence in her life, offering love and support through the years. She also leaves behind her brother, Kent, and his wife, Sheila, her nephew, Eric, and her sister, Lisa, along with Lisa's husband, Brett.
Cindy's journey was marked by a deep commitment to her family and work. She navigated her 30+ year career with American Electric Power with unwavering dedication. Known for her strong work ethic and remarkable problem-solving skills, Cindy took pride in her responsibilities. She was an early riser, often arriving before dawn to take care of business. Her goal was to retire at the age of 72, a milestone she looked forward to with anticipation.
Attending Will Rogers High School, Cindy graduated in 1970, marking the beginning of her lifelong pursuit of excellence. Beyond her professional achievements, she reveled in the time spent with her family. Cindy's bond with Jason, Bailee, and Brooklyn was a source of profound happiness. Her face would light up in their presence, and the memories created will forever be treasured.
Cindy's vibrant spirit extended beyond her immediate family. She found joy in travel, exploring destinations like Las Vegas and Scottsdale, Arizona. An avid antique enthusiast and shopper, Cindy's interests were as diverse as her heart was welcoming. She shared countless moments of laughter and camaraderie with her extended family and friends, etching smiles and cherished memories into the tapestry of their lives.
During her times of need, Cindy was heartened by the outpouring of love from those around her. The visits during her hospital stays, the encouraging calls and messages, all spoke to the impact she had on those fortunate enough to know her. The family extends its gratitude to Oxford Health Care, particularly Liz, who Cindy considered nothing short of amazing. Cindy's time with Liz was filled with warmth, care, and a sense of security that meant the world to her.
As we say goodbye to Cindy for now, let us remember her with love and appreciation. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her, and the memories she created will continue to bring comfort and joy. Until we meet again, Cindy, you remain forever in our thoughts, and your love stays nestled in our hearts.
