Luther "Buzz" William Wormington's Obituary
Luther “Buzz” William Wormington, a resident of Glenpool, passed away May 3, 2016 at the age of 87. He was born September 14, 1928 to Clyde J. and Lula Jane (Kemper) Wormington in Wannette, Oklahoma. Buzz graduated from Purcell High School and was very athletic in high school. He served in the United States Army during WWII and the Korean War. He was a paratrooper while serving in the Army and he enjoyed doing nice things for any Veteran that he met. On September 21, 2008, he married Gerry Lynn Gore in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. They were married 8 wonderful years and loved to travel together and going to the casinos. He loved spending time with his family and being outdoors. Buzz had a sweet, kind soul and will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Lula Wormington; children, Arvella Reed and Leonard Henderson. Survivors include his loving wife, Gerry Lynn Wormington of the home; son, Jerry Don Wormington and wife, Tanya of Jenks; daughter, Barbara Taylor and husband, Bob of Jones, OK; son, Ralph Henderson and wife, Tricia of OKC; son, Eddie Henderson of Sacramento, CA; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and one on the way and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow with Chaplain Bob Crowl officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Army, VFW Honor Guard District 5 and the Patriot Guard Riders. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to DAV Chapter 9 in Sapulpa 1429 S. Main St. Sapulpa, OK 74066. Services are under the direction of Floral Haven Funeral Home in Broken Arrow.
