Lyle Winslow Hoop's Obituary
Lyle Winslow Hoop, 88, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on June 2, 2026.
Lyle was born on January 27, 1938, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Lyle Bresnahan and Adah Lenore Hoop. He was a talented mechanic and craftsman who could fix just about anything. Whether working on motorcycles, cars, or projects around the house, Lyle enjoyed understanding how things worked and took pride in a job well done.
Lyle retired from American Airlines after many years of dedicated service. Following his retirement, he continued to pursue the interests and passions that brought him joy. He had a love for square dancing and ballroom dancing, where he made many lasting friendships and wonderful memories. Lyle was also passionate about genealogy and spent countless hours researching and preserving his family's history. Known for being detail-oriented and meticulous, he approached everything he did with care and dedication.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lyle faithfully served a mission in Durban, South Africa, an experience that remained close to his heart throughout his life.
Lyle will be remembered for his intelligence, strong work ethic, willingness to help others, and the joy he found in sharing his many interests with family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Lyle is preceded in death by his parents, son Steven Lyle Hoop, brother Jack Hoop, sister Emily Ann Sessions, and sister Martha Hoop
Lyle is survived by his wife Hannah Hoop, son John Hoop and wife Kendra, daughter Julie Littleton and husband Greg, daughter Lisa Arrington and husband Kevin, sister Jenette “Jenny” Kahler, (12) grandchildren, (14) great-grandchildren, along with nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 4th, 2026 from 5-7 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, June 5th, 2026 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (1701 N. Hickory Ave. Broken Arrow, OK 74012)
