Lynna Carol Edmondson
November 30, 1945 – May 27, 2026
Lynna Carol Edmondson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 80. She was born on November 30, 1945, in Pryor, Oklahoma, to Odis Lowell Jones and Frances Minnie (Allen) Jones and was a proud citizen of the Choctaw Nation.
Much of Lynna’s life was raising her son Cole with the loving support of her family, creating a strong foundation of love and togetherness. In motherhood she gave her all - love, time, money, and attention. As Cole grew, she was his biggest supporter in everything he did, from elementary school through graduate school, from his first job through his Air Force career.
Lynna built a meaningful career for herself as an office administrator at Dowell, where she was known for her dedication, organization, and strong work ethic. Later, in retirement, Lynna returned to work as the TU Men’s Basketball secretary to put Cole through school.
During this time, she reconnected with another Dowell alumni - Gerald Edmondson, and on July 20, 2002, Lynna married the love of her life. Together they shared many happy years filled with laughter, family, camping and cherished memories.
Lynna was a woman full of life, known for her fun-loving spirit and wonderful sense of humor. She always kept busy and took great pride in her appearance—her hair and nails were always impeccably done, reflecting her natural beauty and grace.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, including camping, gardening, traveling, and enjoying lunches out. Lynna also took great pride in helping organize gatherings for Dowell retirees and was an enthusiastic fan of TU basketball.
Lynna was preceded in death by her parents, Odis and Frances Jones; her first husband, Dennis Murphy; and her second husband, Michael Weston.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Gerald Edmondson; her son, Cole Weston and his wife Rebecca, and their children Audrey, Caroline, Jack, Alice, and David. She is also survived by her stepdaughters, Kimberly Henry and her husband Randy, and their daughter Lauren and her fiancé Bly; Rhonda Nix and her husband David, along with their daughter Mary Chandler and her husband Will and their children June, Myra, and Billie.
She leaves behind her sister, Nancy Trompler, along with Nancy’s children Alaine Brand and her husband Kenneth, and their children Susan Barton and her husband Ben, Nicholas, and Joshua. She is also survived by her brother, James L. “Larry” Jones and his wife Shauna, and their children Matt Jones and his wife Lisa, and Jennifer Genty and her husband Nick.
Lynna’s legacy is one of love, laughter, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
