One happened during basic training at Purcell, OK. His buddy, Bob Baker and he used to brag to brag about “rabbit” hunting!. They would tell fellow recruits that when there was snow on the ground they would go get them. Armed only with a club most of the fellows were not from around here and half way believed them, some did not!. then “It snowed”, and all said “lets go rabbit hunting. We’ll get our clubs!!-Not sure what was going to happen, off they went, after a hilarious trip the got 13 rabbits and were heros!!. the mess hass cleand and cook all the rabbits. Preceeding him in death, were his parents, grandparents, two half-brothers, and his first wife Flora Dean Guthrie of Muskogee. Allen is survived by his wife Mary, daughter Valerie, son Bruce, his brother Martin, grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends. He will be missed by all who knew him. We all kow that he is now in a far better place, no more hurting, no more stress, just everlasting peace and contintment. Save us a place Allen and some day we will join and see you again.
