Macil Bracksieck's Obituary
Macil Rambo Bracksieck died December 14, 2022, at the age of 91. She was born in Laverne, Oklahoma, on December 29, 1930, to Les Rambo and Joy Sumpter Rambo. An alumna of Laverne High School, she attended Northwestern College in Alva, OK, for one year and then returned home to be a bookkeeper for several businesses in Laverne. Macil married the love of her life, Marvin “Lonnie” Bracksieck on May 7, 1950, in Laverne-a union that lasted over fifty-two years before the death of Marvin in November of 2002. Macil and Marvin lived in Kermit, TX, Laverne, and Davenport, OK, before moving to Bristow, OK, in 1962.
Macil was a friend to all. She enjoyed playing the piano, singing, cooking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and crafts of all kinds. She generously shared any of her talents with anyone who asked or seemed to be in need. All of her daughters’ friends could attest to her exceptional culinary skills. She was a lifetime member of Eastern Star and was an advisor to the local chapter of Rainbow Girls. She was a longtime member of Bristow chapter of Business and Professional Women. She was an active member of the First Christian Church.
Macil is survived by her three daughters and a son-in-law, Sue Bracksieck and Barbara Roberts of Jenks, OK, and Donna and Lloyd Fitzgerald of Edmond, OK. She loved her 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren plus one on the way. She is survived by her brother, Rod and wife, JoAnn Rambo, of Englewood, KS, sisiter Leslie and husband, W.C. Earnst, of Casa Grande, AZ, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, her in-laws, Marvin O and Goldie Bracksieck, of Davenport, sister Janneal and husband, J.C. Wright of Laverne.
Visitation will be 5-7 pm, Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Floral Haven Funeral Home.
Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
