Malabika Sen's Obituary
Malabika “Mala” Sen, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away peacfully at her home at the age of 67. Mala was born in Kolkata, India in August of 1950 to Chandranath and Chabi Rakshit. She was the oldest of four siblings. As a child, Mala was driven to do well in school, help take care of her siblings, write poetry and short stories, sew/crochet, and partake in interesting science projects.She completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and Bachelors Degree in Education from Kolkata University . She married the love of her life, Ajit Sen, moved to Odessa, Texas, and then Tulsa, Oklahoma. She worked as an accountant in hospitals and industrial settings while her husband worked as a licensed Professional Engineer. She also volunteered for organizations such as Tulsa Public Schools and American Red Cross. She loved to listen to her children learn music, would spend hours in the garden growing vegetables that she would cook and feed her family and friends, knit/crochet, and make clothes for her family. The best days of her life were when her daughter and son were born – she was an extremely devoted mother, wife, sister, aunt, sister-in law, and friend. She had a strong faith that guided her and her family on a daily basis.Mala is survived by her husband Ajit, son Neetin Sen and daughter-in-law Amanda, daughter Anita Fields and son-in-law Ryan, grand kids Baylen Sen and Maya Fields, brothers and sisters, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 12th, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the Floral Haven Family Center from 4:00 to 6:00.
