Marcia Sue Brown's Obituary
Marcia Sue Martin Brown, an extraordinary woman, passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at the age of 90 years and 10 months.
Marcia was born on May 29, 1934, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, to Ralph Stanford Martin and Gertrude Crain Martin. She graduated from Parsons High School in Parsons, Kansas, completing one year of Junior College by age 17. She then attended the newly established Central Christian College in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and completed her associate degree in Secretarial Science.
In Bartlesville, Marcia met John Lester Brown on the steps of the Sixth and Dewey Church of Christ and married on May 23, 1953. They would have marked their 72nd wedding anniversary this coming May.
Marcia was employed as a secretary at Park Elementary School, Daniel Webster High School and at the Tulsa Public Schools Education Service Center. She was later the Administrative Assistant at Wright Christian Academy, serving joyfully under her favorite boss, Jeffrey Brown, until retirement.
Marcia was an accomplished vocalist, performing in musical theater and singing competitively in high school and college. She blessed hundreds of couples in the Tulsa area by singing at their weddings and other special events. She was a woman of great faith, a beloved Bible class teacher, devoted and caring friend to many, and an amazing mother.
Preceding her are her parents, her brother, Rue Lyle Martin, and her dear daughter-in-law, Nancie Brown. She is survived by her beloved husband, John, her children, Janell and husband John, Jeffrey, Timothy, and Johnny and wife Sissy. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, their spouses, and 15 great-grandchildren with three more on the way, all adored and treasured. She is also survived by many dear nieces, nephews and a special “granddaughter-niece” Melinda Sue.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2025 from 5-7 at Floral Haven Funeral Home
Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Carbondale Church of Christ (3114 W 51st St, Tulsa, OK 74107)
