Humphreys, Marcia's Obituary
Marcia Lee Humphreys, almost 93, passed from this life on April 23, 2026, while in her home, surrounded by family.
Marcia was born on May 8, 1933 in Atlanta, Georgia where her father, Harold Kopp, was employed by American Airlines. The family was transferred to Chicago, Illinois and then to New York where Marcia would learn to ice skate. It was during WW II, and she watched while her father served as an air raid warden, making sure the neighbors had their blackout curtains up and the flag was brought down at sundown. The neighborhood had a dumpster full of sand ready for any artillery fires to be put out. Another transfer was made to Ft. Worth, Texas. Marcia arrived with new ice skates only to find there was not much ice in Ft. Worth. She would ride her bike from one end of the city to the other and play baseball with the neighborhood kids. Their last move was to Tulsa, Oklahoma when Marcia was a sophomore in high school. She graduated from Will Rogers in 1951, already trained with secretarial skills. She married and had 2 children, Nancy and Mike. In July 1963 Marcia married again to Doug Humphreys, and the family size increased by 2 more children, David and Susan, and 1 German Shepherd, Rex. There were trips to Spring Creek, Boy Scout activities and band practices, church services and camps. Marcia worked while raising a family, but every night she made sure they ate dinner together around the table. She worked with her husband in their office equipment business. Later, she was employed by TU in the Alumni department until retirement.
The children grew up, and more children came into the family. Marcia was so proud of each of them, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, spread out over 6 states. She provided the home they could always return to. She was always here for us, always interested in our lives and listening to us, always praying for her family. We miss her!
Marcia was preceded in death by her brother, Lieutenant George Edward Kopp, U.S. Navy; her parents, Harold and Ethel Kopp; her husband, Doug Humphreys; her son, Michael Humphreys; she is survived by her children, David Humphreys, Susan Richardson (Joe), Nancy Sullins (Lynn); her grandchildren, Evan Richardson (Monica), Lindy Sullins (Mike), Adam Humphreys (Mandy), Audra Wilkinson (Rob), Alyssa Cress (Adam); her great grandchildren, Victoria and Natalia Richardson, Hazel and Miles Humphreys, Danica and Camden Wilkinson, Declan and Briar Cress.
Visitation will be May 8th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Floral Haven; the funeral service will be May 9th at 12:30 p.m. in the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow; a graveside service will immediately follow.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Miller Hospice. We are forever grateful for their care of Marcia.
