Margaret Ellen Paulson's Obituary
Margaret Ellen Paulson, 72, of Tulsa died peacefully on June 2, due to complications from COPD. Marge was born to Maurice Fitzgibbons and Lucy Carbone in Bronx, NY, on August 19, 1944. When Marge was 19 she met and maried Wesley Howard Paulson. They started their married lives together on Guam where Wes was stationed with the U.S. Navy. They returned to New York in 1966. After living in New York for 8 years, her husband’s job with American Airlines took them to Tulsa where they would raise their three daughters. Marge loved to play tennis and she and Wes belonged to Shadow Mountain Racket Club where they made many friends and had lots of good memories. Marge was also known to some as their Avon lady and she developed many friendships during her 20 years of sales calls. In addition, Marge was avid entertainer and an accomplished cook who loved planning and cooking dinners for her family and friends. Marge and Wes were fortunate enough to travel extensively. They enjoyed numerous cruises and tours all over the world as well as many trips to Las Vegas. Towards the end she frequently told family members how happy she was to have such a good life and how proud she was of all her kids and grand kids. Marge is survived by Wes, her husband of 53 years, daughters Donna Paulson Clark (Sam), Cathy Paulson Barber (Chris), and Amy Paulson Silvis, as well as 5 grandchildren who fondly called her Mimi: Cameron Clark, Matthew, Emily, and Ashley Barber, and Madison Silvis. Marge is also survived by her aunt, Sister Marguerita Carbone of Scranton, PA.The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at St. Francis Hospital for taking such good care of her as her health began to decline, especially Dr. E. Joe Schelbar, Dr. Steven Geister, and Dr. Richard Scott. In addition, thanks to the St. Francis Hospice service and to the staff at Clarehouse. As much as Marge loved serving others, she wished to have no visitation or service for herself. She wanted to be remembered how she lived, not how she died.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Clarehouse located at 7617 S. Mingo Road in Tulsa, Oklahoma 74133.
