Margaret Richardson's Obituary
Margaret Lois Richardson passed away on August 14, 2018 at the age of 95. Margaret was born much earlier than expected on April 16, 1923 in Ellington, Missouri to Ira and Ocia Andrews. Her start to life was challenging, but due to her parents tender love and care, she overcame it. Ira fashioned a brick arrangement around her bedding on the fireplace hearth to keep her warm. The family later relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma. She met Ralph Richardson in grade school and they both attended Central High School. After graduation, Margaret and Ralph married in 1942. The two loved fishing at Lake Tenkiller where they and several other church friends owned homes in the same park. They were together for 55 years until Ralph’s passing in 1997.She was a devoted member to First Christian Church where she actively attended for over 90 years. She served as a Deaconess, was a member of the Galilean class, and was involved in the senior groups NEATS and Happy Timers.Margaret worked at Sooner Federal Savings and Loan where she worked her way up from Teller to Assistant Branch Manager.When not at work or church, she loved to tend to her flower and rose gardens. She always looked forward to Wednesday night Skipbo with her friend Hilda, daughter-in-law Michele, and granddaughter Christie.Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Richardson; parents; sister Erma; and several nieces and nephews.She is survived by daughter Sharon and husband Norman Crockett; son Ralph and wife Michele Richardson; grandchildren Cynthia, Chelsea, Heather, and Christie; great grandchildren Issac, Coffee, Cortlin, Lauren, and Pierce; several nieces and nephews; and lifetime best friend and confidant Hilda McMillan.Visitation will take place on Monday, August 20 at Floral Haven Funeral Home from 4 pm – 7 pm.A service will be held in her honor on at 11 am on Tuesday, August 21 at First Christian Church of Tulsa – 913 S Boulder Ave, Tulsa, OK 74119.
