Margaret Warren's Obituary
Margaret Aurilla (Thompson) Warren, age 97, passed away peacefully at home with her daughters and sons-in-law on June 19, 2017 at 7:04 A.M. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Warren, her siblings Harold, Bickie and James Thompson.Margaret was born December 28, 1919 to James and Nora (Duncan) Thompson in Coalgate, OK. She graduated from Central High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma in May 1938. Margaret married Carl Warren on July 30, 1938 and they celebrated 58 years of marriage before his death. She retired from Tulsa Public Schools Food Service Department after 20 years of service. She was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels and a long time member of the 41st Street Christian Church.Margaret loved being a homemaker, taking care of her family, gardening, making crafts and oil painting. Her love for painting spanned for decades and she continued her education through many years of painting classes. She was known by her family and friends at the Prairie Rose Retirement Center as “The Queen”, enjoyed being the center of attention, and didn’t consider herself completely ready without her makeup and jewelry. Everyone loved her sweet personality, kind smile, and witty sense of humor, along with her caring and compassionate nature. She loved being with all of her family for get-togethers and holiday, and always kept her candy dish full… for guests, of course!She is survived by her sister Pat (Thompson) Warren; daughter Claudia Moguin and her husband Bill of Edmond, Oklahoma; daughter Cathey Garoutte and her husband Keith of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; five grand children; eleven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 21, from 10 am – 8 pm at Floral Haven Funeral Home. Family will receive guests from 6 pm – 8 pm. Funeral Services will take place on Thursday, June 22 at 3 pm in the Floral Haven Chapel, Family Center to follow.
