Margie Sellars' Obituary
Margie Louise Sellars was born January 10th, 1942 to Della and John Dillard Lewis. It was from them that she inherited a heaping portion of the family's legendary sense of humor.
Margie was preceded in death by her mother and father as well as three brothers and one sister. She is survived by her brother Richard Lewis and her two children, daughter Tatia Bennert and son John Sellars.
Fiercely capable, Margie faced the losses and challenges in her life with unstoppable grit and determination. Faith, family, and friends formed the pillars of her life.
Her whole family was precious to her. Her passion for genealogy led to a knack for finding long-lost relatives. Family reunions were high holidays to be marked into the calendar and then eagerly anticipated.
Margie greeted everyone with a new joke (it was always funny) and usually a new dessert recipe to share like this little gem >> Mix together 1 box angel food cake mix and 1 can apple pie filling. Pour into a baking dish and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Bake 350
degrees for 40 minutes. Serve with ice cream!
Playing dominoes every Saturday with her crew of beloved friends was one of the greatest joys in her life (especially when she won!) and her expertise as an armchair coach for the Sooners football team was indisputable.
She made such beautiful things with stained glass, and she sewed quilts that were each unique and thoughtful. She loved to make a special family calendar each year. The countless hours devoted to these acts of love and generosity made her gifts to us incalculable
in value.
She will always be forever loved and never forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, please honor Margie with a memorial to her church.
