Margrit "Heisel" Kapalko's Obituary
Margrit (Heisel) Kapalko was born on February 9, 1924, in Lehe, Germany. She passed away comfortably in her sleep January 3, 2005 at the age of 80. At the young age of 4, Margrit imigrated to America with her family. She grew up in the New York City area and spent much of her life there. At the age of 25 she married Joe Heisel and had 2 children, Jeffery and Joann. She subsequently married Steve Kapalko on June 2, 1961, and had 2 more children, Vicki and Richard. Margrit will be remembered for being a strong willed woman with a generous heart, her love of card games, unique recopies and eating habits She would spend hours watching the birds from her kitchen windows, Margrit and the rest of the Kapalko famiy moved to Broken Arrow, OK in 1980,when she became active in the Boys and Girls Club as well as other civic organizations as well as several card clubs. Even in death her giving heart was shown in her attempt to be an organ donor. She is preceded in death by husband, Steve and her brother Rolf Brandt. She is survived by children, Jeff Heisel and his wife Madir of Kihei, HI; Joann Heisel of Columbia, MD; Vicki Ruck and her husband Bill of St. Louis, MO; Richard Kapalko ad his wife Lori of Belen, NM; Grandchidren Megan Hanzlick and her husband Geoff of OR; Shadayn, Sean and Shyann Kapalko of Belen, NM and great grandson Elijah Hanzlick; 2 nieces and 3 nephews, 6 grand nephews and 3 great grand nieces. Numerous friends also grieve her passing. Private services for the family were held. Memorial may be made to the charity of your choice.Survived By: children: Jeff Heisel and his wife Madir of Kihei, HI; Joann Heisel of Columbia, MD; Vicki Ruck and her husband Bill of St. Louis, MO; Richard Kapalko and his wife Lorie of Belen, NM; grandchildren: Megan Hanzlick and her husband Geoff of OR; Shadayn, Sean and Shyann Kapalko of Belen, NM; greatgrandson: Elijah Hanzlick; 2 nieces; 3 nephews; 6 grand nephews; and 3 great grand nieces.
