Maria Malaguti's Obituary
Maria Rose Malaguti was born August 21, 1937 in Molfetta, Italy to Mauro Cantatore and Lucretia Mezzina.
After WWII, she immigrated to the United States in 1954, at the age of 17. She met the love of her life, Gino Malaguti, in 1955 and the two were married in New Jersey in 1959. Maria found work as a seamstress for top New York fashion designers such as Vera Wang and Evan Piccone, a career that spanned nearly five decades.
After their son, James, was born in 1976, the couple settled in Fort Lee, New Jersey until Gino’s retirement. They moved down the shore to Tom’s River, where they stayed until Gino’s passing in 2002. In 2005, Maria moved to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma to be closer to her son and young granddaughters.
Maria is survived by her son, James Malaguti and wife Donna; granddaughters Savanna, Gina and Kyleigh; her sister, Tina; sister-in-law, Camille and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gino Malaguti and siblings Suzanna, Nick, Felix and Nick.
