Marian Yvette Jones' Obituary
Marian Yvette Jones joined heaven’s angelic choir on December 22, 2016 at 7:25 pm among family and friends. Marian was born on December 14, 1943 to the late Austin & Johnee Shanklin of Freeport, Texas. She attended school in Freeport, Texas. Marian lived in Los Angeles, California for a few years where she met her best friend and devoted husband James H. Jones. They were joined in marriage on July 10, 1966 and they celebrated their 50th Anniversary this year. Marian worked at Tulsa Public Schools for over 25 years. Her hobbies included singing and bowling. She was a member of the Gospel Pearls, Tulsa. She was an active member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church (South Haven). Marian accepted the Lord at an early age. She is preceded in death by her parents. She leaves to cherish her memories her beloved husband James Jones Sr.; her one loving daughter– Ina Latrice of Broken Arrow, her two loving sons, James Jr. and Jerome of Tulsa Oklahoma, OK; her nine precious grandchildren, Kyanna Trinea, Meghann Jones, Amari Benson, Chiara Jones, Promise Montgomery, Andrew Bailey, Samuel Akem, Gyasi Akem, Davian Jones; her dearly loved great grandchild, Kyah Akem; her loving siblings, Bennie Shanklin, Godfrey Shanklin, Freddie Shanklin, Robert Shanklin, Harry Edwards, Erma Jones, Lila Lloyd, Austin Shanklin, John Shanklin, Lewis Curry and numerous other loving family members and friends.
